NY-STRIP STEAK SANDWICH INGREDIENTS

  • 1 12 oz. - 16 oz. NY Strip Steak.

  • ¼ lb. Sliced Provolone Cheese.

  • Italian Bread or your favorite bread.

  • Arugula.

  • 1 Onion.

  • 2-3 Bell Peppers (not green) or Sweet Mini Peppers.

  • 2 Cloves Garlic.

  • ½ Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

  • Fresh Basil and Parsley.

  • Oregano.

  • 3 oz. Soy Sauce

  • 3 oz. Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp. Smoked Paprika.

  • Balsamic Glaze.

  • S&P to taste.

  • Cast Iron Pan.

NY-STRIP STEAK SANDWICH COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start by letting your NY Strip set out at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  2. Next you can trim some but not all of the fat and place in a bag and pound evenly to about ¼ in thick. I used long Italian bread, so I cut the strip steak in half vertically. Place on the side and start on the Marinade.

  3. In a mixing bowl or a sealable bag add 2 oz. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, Chopped Garlic, Chopped Basil and Parsley, Smoked Paprika, Salt & Pepper.

  4. Place steak in Marinade and let it sit on the counter for at least 30 minutes. You can refrigerate the marinating steak overnight and it will be that much better.

  5. Clean and cut the peppers and add them to the sauté pan with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Oregano and Salt & Pepper, cook them about 50% and add sliced onion to the sauté pan, and continue to cook until the peppers are about 85% and remove from heat.

  6. Place a cast iron pan on high heat and wait for it to smoke. Once it starts to smoke, place your steak in the cast iron pan and sear it on both sides for about 2 minutes. Remove and place your beautiful steak on your favorite bread.

  7. Top with peppers and onions, then with provolone cheese and place in the oven until the cheese starts to brown. (maybe about 5 minutes at 400 degrees F)

  8. While your sandwich is in the oven, mix Arugula in a bowl with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Salt & Pepper and place on top of the sandwich.

  9. You are done... Nice Job and Enjoy 😊
